Getting Down to the Knitty-Gritty…

What's this Beastie up to? CrawCrafts BeastiesWell, this has been a long time coming.
Knitter Barróg Beastie, by CrawCrafts BeastiesWho would have thought that I had never considered making a knitting Beastie until one of my diligent readers suggested it a couple of months back? But in between commissions, I found a spare minute to make some felt knitting needles (with needle-felted ends), and set this little monster on the road to the same yarn-based addiction that I myself suffer from discovering the joys of knitting!
What are you knitting, Beastie? CrawCrafts BeastiesThis Beastie has clearly got the hang of garter stitch already… but then, I suppose knitting is in his genes! I wonder what he’s making? Only time will tell, I suppose…
Barróg Beastie, Knitting! CrawCrafts Beasties… But knitting is a great way to pass the time on long journeys. And this Beastie has in fact headed off on a top-secret mission! I’ll let you know how he’s getting on as soon as he reports back!

Speaking of long journeys, I had another Barróg Beastie (those are the ones made from 100% Irish wool) leave Beastie Towers this week. Hurling Beastie is on his way to the USA!Hurling Barróg Beastie, by CrawCrafts BeastiesThanks to Kerry for finding him on our Etsy shop, and offering him a brand new home!

Anyway, time for me to get going – I have some Beasties here clamouring for new outfits. I’ll be sharing the results next Tuesday, but don’t forget to pop back on Friday to see Explorer Beastie’s holiday snaps from our recent “staycation”!

Have a great week!

  1. I’m sure there will be more knitting beasties in the future… then all you need to do is set them to work and they can make their own new brothers and sisters while you focus on new designs!

    1. Good thinking! Perhaps the knitting Beasties could then whip me up a gang of Unpleasant Tasks Beasties, who would take delight in the less fun aspects of monster-making. First on the list… Tax Return Beastie! 😛

        1. I have a feeling that, like the rest of us, beasties would rather be knitting, or drinking Guinness, or reading, or exploring… or absolutely anything but doing the tax return so I won’t sack our accountant just yet!

  2. Hmmm, those colors, that face…could this be a sibling or cousin of my own Finn McSpool? When you make your millions with these monsters you’ll be hosting a family reunion, yes?

    1. Yes indeed! Looking back, I think I might have gone a bit nuts with that purple yarn when I bought it. And I would actually love to have a Beastie reunion party… Although, with Beasties scattered to the four corners of the globe, the logistics of it are mind-boggling!

  3. I love to knit! It is so relaxing for me since I usually just make long scarves and occasionally a hat or two…Recently, I bought a small loom to try weaving. We’ll see how that goes!

    1. I’m quite the fan of knitting too! It’s still my very favourite part of the whole Beastie-making process. I hope you enjoy weaving… I actually used to help a friend of my mum’s set up her looms for classes, in exchange for a bit of free weaving time! Let us all know how you get on, and thanks for stopping by 😀

  4. Knitting Beastie is so cute. He also looks very relaxed and happy. I’m pretty sure he didn’t have to frog anything, yet. haha
    Many greetings from Germany, ivonne

    1. Danke schön! (I hope I spelled that properly 😆) Hmmm, maybe next I could do a Frogging Beastie with a grumpy face and a huge tangle of unravelled yarn? Hope you, Katsching and the rest of your family are having fun in Germany!

  5. I LOVE the little extras you put in with your beasties! The knitting needles and little ball of wool hanging off are perfect! Oooh…a secret mission? So, he might be an Undercover Knitting Beastie? Can’t wait to hear more!
