I am hugely unmusical. My singing brings tears to the eyes (not in a good way) and even playing the glockenspiel was beyond me… Despite the fact that the notes are actually written on it. That probably explains why I am so in awe of musicians and what they do – and why I jumped at the chance to make a custom Beastie for London-based singer, musician and songwriter Weekes!
Here she is, modelling a Beastie-sized version of her human counterpart’s favourite hoodie – an official “Cats” zip-up sweater with cat ears on the hood!
And by happy coincidence, it turns out that this style is perfect for keeping a busy Beastie lady warm as she goes about her day. Her pointy ears fit snugly into the ears in the hood!
I also embroidered the “Cats” logo onto the front, so it looks like the real deal, and included an embroidered zip detail and a drawstring for the hood.
And on warmer days, she can wear the hood down…
… So that everyone can admire her classic Sinead O’Connor hairstyle!
This pic also shows off her lovely precise eye makeup and cool piercings.
And to complete her look, check out what she has in her paw!
This is a Beastified version of Weekes’ own debut album, “Pocket Bible”, rendered in miniature using appliquéd felt pieces and hand embroidery. And of course, I didn’t send this custom Beastie out into the world clutching an empty vinyl sleeve… There’s totally a record in there!
So with all this kit, she’s sure to hit the right note wherever she goes!
