Hey there Beastie friends! And what’s this – could it be the first new Beastie of the new decade? I think so! Hey there, June Beastie!
That said, the most attentive BeastieBlog readers will surely remember her chance arrival on Paddy and Plunkett’s doorstep last year… And her subsequent departure to foreign parts in a convenient backpack!
But her visit was so fleeting that we didn’t really get a chance to check out all her cool stuff! So, let’s set 2020 off to a good start and get to know June Beastie a little better. She certainly loves to smile for the camera!
She also loves to cook, so I was sure to make her a neatly-embroidered felt apron to cover her hand-sewn lilac t-shirt.
And I’m hoping she’s as happy with her hairstyle as I am – check out those cute wool and mohair curls!
Then, how about we add a little sparkle? Hello, matching gold glasses and earrings! Very stylish.
And finally… The item that has been raising the most questions – not least from Paddy and Plunkett! It’s a… Rolling pin?!
Well, the way I see it, you never know when you might be faced with a baking emergency. And I’d hate to send any Beastie out into the world without their favourite piece of kit. But if you can think of any other eventualities where a rolling pin might be useful, or if you’ve ever found yourself in a situation where you thought “I really wish I’d had a rolling pin with me”, be sure to share them in the comments!

You are right, a girl should always be prepared for a baking emergency. And the same goes for a Beastie with lovely grey mohair curls. I can’t think of a better reason to travel with a rolling pin.
BTW, I wish I could also wear my earings at the top of my head like June Beastie, but my ears are in the wrong place.
I know! People would see earrings so much more clearly if they were lifted up out of our hair, right? Take note, evolution! 😂

Why do I never look this well-dressed when baking? As for rolling pins, I can think of many times when I wished mine wasn’t at home crammed deep inside a cupboard.
I know, right? 😂😂😂 Let this be a lesson to you – never leave home without it again! As for looking this well-dressed when baking… Oh, tell me about it. The serene expression and lack of flour-spattered everything doesn’t reflect my own experience at all 😆

I got a rolling pin for Christmas that makes embossed cookies! It is gorgeous. My husband doesn’t want me to make so many cookies – he picked up the wrong gift. I want to grow up to be just like June Beastie!
Me too… I should have got her to teach me a thing or two in the kitchen before she left Beastie Towers! And if you need someone to consume those extra embossed cookies… I know some Beasties who would love to help out 😉

She is gorgeous. And other than for baking a rolling pin is great for self defense, especially when traveling to foreign countries! No security check will rid you of your trusty weapon and no mugger shall come near you!
Oh my word, you’re right! Now I’m surprised that more ladyfolk flying solo leave theirs behind in the utensils drawer! I won’t be making that mistake again 😂
