Hi there Beastie friends! As you can see, I’m getting back to my usual blogging routine – hopefully Tuesday posts will once again be the norm after a couple of disrupted weeks!
Now, at the end of Sunday’s post, I mentioned Explorer Beastie’s beauty regime. You might be surprised that he even has one – perhaps you pictured him as a more rough-and-tumble kind of guy.
I can’t imagine why that might be.
Anyway, for the last little while, he’s been feeling a bit… Flat. Life hadn’t literally knocked the stuffing out of him, but his adventurous ways were taking a toll on his insides, and he’d lost the winsome plumpness of his early years.
Poor Explorer Beastie!
Fortunately, monster-making skills aren’t just good for creating new Beastie friends. They can also be applied to help cure serious Beastie medical conditions! And so, I formulated a surgical strategy…
…Then I performed my first ever stuffing transplant!
Afterwards, to help him during his recovery, I treated Explorer Beastie to a spa day. You know, to help restore his youthful vitality.
Now, Beastie beauty products are a little different to what we humans use…
… But Explorer Beastie really enjoyed his therapeutic bubble bath!
“Aaaaah! We should do this every week!”
Whiter teeth and a nice clean beanie hat were just an added bonus!
Then, it was time to snuggle up in a big cosy towel and dry off.
And now he’s ready for action again!

When I was wee, any time I walked past the doll hospital in Edinburgh, I’d imagine all the possible goings on inside like it was a mash up of Playschool and Casualty.
Ah, to be a Beastie. Not only do you get spa treatments with pink “shampoo” you also have the luck of getting LESS plump as you age. EB is looking mighty spiffy after his makeover. Maybe I should do the same with Finn before letting him climb over any further celebratory cakes.
I don’t know – you’d think that slimming-as-you-age thing would be good, but the effect was more like Stephen King’s “Thinner” 😆 I thought Finn was looking mighty fine when I saw him last spring, but if you do have Beastie-related hygiene concerns, I think a gentle surface sponge bath (rather than the full-on spa soak) might be just the ticket! Now, good luck herding him into the bathroom! 😂
Finn stays fluffed up with all that cake he doesn’t share. I think the fact he wears his “scuba gear” when he travels really helps. And, are you saying there might a Beastie version of a Stephen King classic coming soon? I’m always amazed at actors who drop a ton of weight for their roles. :))
Hahaha! Well, hopefully Explorer Beastie won’t be experiencing extreme weight loss again any time soon… Maybe I’ll have to pick out a different King classic for a Beastie remake. “The Spinning”, perhaps? “Stand By Fleece”? 🤔
Anything but “It”! I don’t want to see any Demented Clown Beasties coming out of your workspace. Or any workspace, for that matter.

Ah, glad to see that EB was able to enjoy a well-deserved spa day. Every Beastie needs a day to unwind, especially EB and his globe-trotting ways! He looks like a new man…I mean, monster! 😁
Heehee! Thanks, Shirley! Yes, even I was amazed at the transformation… Kinda makes me wish I was made of wool and felt. But with the spa day done, Explorer Beastie is ready for fresh adventures. I’m intrigued to see where he’s going to drag us off to!
