After last week’s post, some eagle-eyed readers were able to figure out that Paddy and Plunkett are currently enjoying a bit of winter (or late autumn!) sun in Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. Lucky them! Shall we see where their wandering paws have taken them this week?
It seems like they’ve been making friends with some more of the locals, for starters!
Having spent a lot of the early part of their stay enjoying the delights of the hotel they’d snuck into, this week they decided to venture further afield.
“Come on Plunkett, let’s head for the hills!”
Paddy – full of beans as usual – was keen to see the island from the top of this mountain. All the more so after he found out that it used to be…
…A VOLCANO!
Plunkett was a little less enthused at the prospect of encountering pyroclastic flow and rivers of red-hot lava – he hid behind the sofa when we were checking out Grim Reaper Beastie’s last set of travel pics – but once we’d confirmed that it’s a looooong time since this volcano last erupted, he was happy enough to continue with the climb.
Well, as long as there were frequent stops to admire the view, of course…
“Are we nearly there yet, Paddy?”
“Almost… Just around the next corner!”
“Woooooooah! Look at that!”
Mind you, it was pretty breezy on the edge of the crater, so the boys didn’t stay long. On their way back down to sea level, Paddy spotted their next destination – he was all for making tracks to visit that lighthouse, way off in the distance!
However, Plunkett put his paw down.
“We’re supposed to be on holiday!”
And it turns out that it was surprisingly easy to win Paddy over to catching a few late-afternoon rays!
We’ll be back with more monster madness on Tuesday. In the meantime, have a great weekend… And Dubliners, don’t forget that you can catch us at the Creative Collective Ireland Craft Fair in Ranelagh this Saturday and Sunday!
What adventurous little monsters. Although I do have to wonder if they don’t get hot in their woolen clothes. And just think of the funny tan lines they’re going to end up with. Best of luck at your fair!!
Cheers Tammie! It was a pretty good weekend, but with all the usual panic and last-minute making of stock (I never learn…), it didn’t leave much time for being a good blog conversationalist! It’s funny, I never hear Beasties complaining about getting too hot – maybe their metabolism just runs differently to ours…
Yes, well they are small and so probably lose body heat more rapidly than us. Surface area to body mass ratio…ooh I feel so science-y!
That’s good, as long as science has proven that the Beasties aren’t overdressed and in danger of developing heatstroke, I’m happy to let them carry on with their adventurings! Cheers Dr Tammie!
Remember, I am an American Doctor so I will be sending you my outrageous bill soon. πππ€
Noooooo! Now I’ll have to break open my piggy bank, which means I’ll have vet’s bills to take care of next… Where will it end?!
How wonderful … next time please pack me into their suitcase!
… looks like they got a nice tan while the Dubliners got free car wash. π
I know… Typical! I really hope the rain stops today before I have to go out to Other Work π I’m still looking out for the perfect Helen-sized suitcase that will allow me to travel with the boys, too…
I’m 5’11 (1,80m) I guess chances to find a good Ivonne-sized suitcase are rather slim. But one can dream. π
Tricky indeed! Even travelling coach must be less than comfortable… Long journeys on public transport are the only time I’m glad I’m not taller! We’ll just have to find another way to stalk those travelling Beasties…
I talked to captain kirk. He highly recommended teleportation. π
Brilliant! I’ve always wanted to try that. Beam me up, Beasties!
Lets go to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man or beastie has gone before.
Yaaaay! Sounds like my kinda party… Just remember not to wear a red jumper π
π
Delightful. Looks like the two are having some great adventures. All best to you at the Craft Fair today. Wishing you a fun day!
Thank you! It was a busy weekend… So much for my new year’s resolution to get all my stock made in the first quarter of the year π Thanks for finding me on FB too! π
Sooo envious of the boys enjoying the sun, I’m fed up of the cold weather already !!
Have a wonderful time at the craft fair this weekend x
Thanks Mrs P! I’ve certainly been kept pretty busy the last couple of days! The Craft Fair was great fun as usual, and I’m looking forward to my next one already π Stay toasty… Sounds to be me like you could justify making another blanket or two, perhaps?
Or even 3 LOL
Sooooo cuuute! π
Thanks… And cheers for stopping by!
De nada…was fun!
Yaaaay! See you again soon π
Yep, take care πππππ
