Well, THIS has been a while coming! Today’s new Beastie actually left Beastie Towers back at the end of September… But since I devoted all of last month to Hallowe’en-themed monsters, this is really the first chance I’ve had to introduce you to this little lady! However, now that the days have suddenly got much colder, and tickets for the Six Nations have gone on sale, it seems like a good time for you all to meet Rugby Girl Beastie!
Rugby Girl Beastie was commissioned as a very special birthday gift for a devoted Munster Rugby fan! So of course she’s proudly wearing her team’s jersey…
… Featuring a hand-embroidered crest and a personalised number, to mark the occasion!
Rugby Girl Beastie’s new human friend also LIVES in her Converse trainers, so I made her a pair of her own to match!
And so that she can join in on the pitch if needs be, she got a hand-embroidered rugby ball too!
This Beastie girl’s new human buddy is a busy lady! When she’s not following her favourite rugby team’s exploits, she loves going to gigs and festivals… and so that Rugby Girl Beastie can tag along, I included a special VIP wristband to help her sneak backstage.
Then, as a final finishing touch, an accessory to celebrate her love of travel!
The hand-embroidered felt “stickers” are from some of Rugby Girl Beastie’s new friend’s favourite holiday destinations… and since she often travels to see Dublin band The Coronas play overseas, I’ve included a nod to them on there too!
Now I think we’re ready to hit the road!
Thanks so much to Katie for requesting this commission!
Oh, and thanks to all of you as well! Last week the BeastieBlog hit the 400 followers mark… And we literally couldn’t have done it without you. So… CHEERS!
Join us again on Friday for more overseas antics with Paddy and Plunkett… And don’t forget that this weekend we’ll be at the Creative Collective Ireland Craft Fair in Ranelagh, Dublin 6!
What a brilliant Beatie, love the VIP wrist band,I hope she will be very happy with her new human x
Thank you! And let’s hope so… Perhaps I’ll get a Beastie postcard from Italy or Belize sometime in the future π
That would be great, better still if you could be in the Beasties entourage LOL
Definitely! Maybe if I could shrink myself down to Beastie size, I’d be able to join in their adventures more… π€
I wonder where Alice in Wonderland put her magic potion LOL
Ooooh, yes! I might see if I can track down the bigger-making one as well… If I was 12 feet tall, I could walk to work in no time!
LOL
Wow! Incredible. I love her converse trainers and suitcase stickers. Amazing!
Thank you! π I was a little nervous making the Converse, but I couldn’t help giggling at them when they were finished. They’re so teeny!
O. M. G. Helen, that is so much adorable detail! It’s one lucky human who’ll be receiving this monster. And yay, Belize! Spent my honeymoon there and got the thrill of being harassed by a sting ray (territorial little things, let me tell you).
Aaaah, cherished memories! As long as the sting wasn’t deployed, of course… π And thank you for your kind words… It makes all the tiny stitching worthwhile!
Just look at her!!! I’m impressed by your ability in finishing so well every single detail of your creatures…. I have lost my jaw…
Heehee, thanks so much! This was another of those “fiddly but fun” projects π I’ve a few more of those on the cards in the run-up to Christmas π
Oh WOW! She is so …. what’s the word here? Perfect? Wonderful? Marvelous? Detailed? – all of it! That is hand-made at it’s finest.
Yaaaay! I’m happy with all that π Thank you!!
