Look, everyone! The Irish summer has made a surprise reappearance!
So I thought today’s new Beastie should have his photo taken in the luxuriant(ish) gardens of Beastie Towers. I’m pleased to introduce you to Cookie Beastie, who is outside enjoying his favourite treat in the lovely warm sunshine.
But picnicking alone isn’t much fun…
…So a few friends came out to join him!
Much better. But of course, it didn’t take much time for these mischievous monsters to start running riot among the plants! Maybe they had too much beer… or fizzy pop!
Um, how exactly DO you climb a plant whilst holding a full pint of Guinness?
But not everyone was clambering through the undergrowth. Cheerleader Beastie was eager to practice a couple of new moves…
…While Redhead Beastie was happy to stop and smell the flowers.
But rounding up these little critters was more than a little tricky – especially when they’re as well camouflaged as Aran Beastie!
Still, I managed to lure them home by promising a market trip this weekend… our first of the year! We’ll be at our old stomping ground, The Ha’Penny Market at The Grand Social on Liffey Street, from 12-6 on Saturday. So if you’re in Dublin (or even if you’re not – take a day trip!) stop by and see us. We’d love to meet you!
Amazing works! π
Thank you! It was nice to get outside to photograph them yesterday too π
A http://www…that Cookie Beastie sends me right back to my Sesame Street-watching days as a kid. And a day trip to Dublin? Sign me up!! Good luck at the market! Or should I call it your Adoption Event?
“Adoption event” – brilliant! I should put that on a banner and hang it over my stall. You can check it out for yourself on Saturday… A day trip is totally feasible, I’m sure the jetlag would only really start to kick in on your flight home π And I suppose it goes without saying that Sesame Street was one of my favourites as a kid!
Im on my way, but if I pass out on your table please be sure to adopt me out to a nice family.
I’ll do my best… But maybe wear a t-shirt saying “display only” just in case!
πππ
Sorry, I don’t have a clue how “Awwww” got turned into a hyperlink to nowhere. Love technology!
Hahaha! I was wondering what that was! Thanks, autocorrect π
The cookie beastie, I absolutely love him. Any relative of the Cookie Monster???
Hmmm, another blue monster who loves cookies? It can’t be coincidence! Cookie Monster is one of my favourite Sesame Street characters, so this Beastie is kind of a tribute π Thanks for stopping by!
Just brilliant!
Thank you! It was nice to get out of my craft cave and enjoy some sunshine!
Thanks for sharing it with us, it’s so cool what you’ve done. A little bit of creative genius! βΊ
Thank you, Simon! I’ll be sharing some more of my latest Beasties tomorrow, although this weekend rain stopped play with the outdoor photos!
Those a great little beasties. I’m sure they would make great little presents fro Christmas – you do sell them right?
I do indeed! My adventurous little monsters are always excited to head off to new homes. You can find them in my Etsy store (www.etsy.com/shop/CrawCraftsBeasties), or get in touch with me directly at crawcraftsbeasties@gmail.com to order your own personalised Beastie! π
I’ll have to save your website and email π
Please do! π Thanks! And I am already (gulp) taking orders for Christmas, so get in there early if you have any special requests…
Well I hate the thought of it but Christmas isn’t far away, so I may have to get an order in soon I expect! π
I know… It’s scary how quickly this year has flown by! I’m still wondering where June and July went π Sure, let me know what you decide… I still have a few commission slots left! π
OK, I’ll let you know my idea’s I’ll have to have a think. How much do these little gifts cost in general?
Perfect! The price varies depending on the accessories – some need more fiddly work than others! Commissions usually start at β¬40, but I’ll be able to give you a firm estimate once I’ve sketched up your design π
OK, I’ll get in touch! βΊ
Yaaaay! Talk to you soon π
Ha! Definitely! βΊ
Cookie Beastie is fab! I loved the group shot with the 4 of them. π
Thanks! Cookie Beastie was actually the first to head off to a new home at my market on Saturday… Now all the Beasties want cookies π
Nice! He’s pretty adorbs so I can see why! Now I want a cookie…:)
Heehee… Better make it a chocolate chip one half the size of your head π
