Beast-Skis!

Garcia Beastie, King of the Mountains! S Allen/CrawCrafts Beasties
It’s been a while since we’ve checked in with Garcia Beastie… so I couldn’t have been happier to get a (virtual) postcard from his post-Christmas ski trip, complete with photos!

This little monster loves an adventure in the great outdoors – it’s the perfect chance to take a break from the hectic life he leads in London. So, let’s hit the slopes!

One of the best things about being a Beastie is that it’s easy to hitch a lift to wherever you need to go.

But maybe you should rent some gear of your own, Garcia Beastie.

“Um, you wouldn’t have any Beastie-sized skis, would you?”

Much better.

Wheeeeeeee! Time to show those humans how it’s done…

… Or not.

Still, dinner will help him to thaw out…

…And then there’s the aprรจs ski to look forward to!

Oh, and at the end of the night, you can take a sparkly reindeer taxi home. It’s lucky someone was there to take a photo – this is the kind of story people don’t believe when you tell them the next day…

All in all, a successful trip! Thanks to Suzanne for sharing the photos!

What are you up to for the weekend? Let us know in the comments! We’ll be back next week with more new Beasties on Tuesday, and another day out with Explorer Beastie on Friday… see you then!

    1. I did indeed! He was a special birthday commission for my friend’s boyfriend a couple of years ago ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks for stopping by, I’ll be taking commissions again in March if you’d like a woolly friend of your own!

    1. I know! They’ve really got it made… Free travel, outdoor adventures, dinner! I think for my next project I’ll knit myself a giant Beastie costume and start picking up some of these perks for myself ๐Ÿ˜‚ Will I make one for you as well?

    1. I really should look at that again… I tried once before, but I wasn’t thrilled with how it turned out, then I got distracted by something else! So maybe I should have another go… And maybe your granddaughters could give the stories a test drive? ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

      1. That’s a great idea. No.2 is still a bit little, she would probably try to eat the book, but her big sister loves books. She is obsessed with the Hungry Caterpillar at the moment, but I’m sure a Beastie that goes on adventures would be much more exciting!

        1. Excellent! One captive audience successfully captured! And I won’t begrudge the Very Hungry Caterpillar his moment in the spotlight while I gather my thoughts – I have fond memories of him from my own childhood ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. I second the book idea! Also, looks like Garcia Beastie needs quick release bindings on his skis. What an oversight! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Two votes for the books, eh? Sounds like I should be sharpening my pencils and buying a new notebook (yesssssss!) so I can get started… In between pioneering safer skis for Beasties, of course ๐Ÿ˜† Sorry Garcia Beastie! At least he has no bones to break…

    1. Thanks! His look is inspired by my friend’s boyfriend’s novelty ski outfit… One year all his luggage got lost en route and he had to buy replacements from the resort shop. It’s been a running joke ever since!

      1. Good grief! I shudder at the thought. ๐Ÿ˜ญ It’s good that he escaped it with his fashion sense in tact. And Beastie is just adorable, of course. He can wear anything.

        1. Ha! I know… I think he did very well to cobble such a good ensemble together! And Garcia Beastie is really rocking those Swiss flag shorts too ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks for dropping by!
