Monster New Year!

Pint Beastie Looks Forward to 2016! Crawcrafts Beasties
Phew! I might already have mentioned how busy December was for me and the Beasties, but with Christmas now under our (considerably tighter) belts, it’s time for us to start looking forward to another year of monster mayhem!

There’s going to be plenty going on over the next couple of months… starting with a veritable deluge of new Beasties! They’ve all had to keep their identities secret up until now, for fear of spoiling Christmas day surprises, but it’s finally time for them each to have their star turn on the BeastieBlog. I’ll be introducing you to a fresh Beastie face every Tuesday, so be sure to stop by! To whet your appetites, here’s an oatmeal stout-swigging Pint Beastie who made it to his new home in the UK just in time for Christmas!

2015 was a great year for Beasties abroad, and I’m so grateful to everybody who shared photos of their little woolly friends exploring the furthest reaches of the planet! When I said “hey, send me photos of your Beasties”, I never expected to see them gadding about in Canada…

He’s had a bit of a quiet time in 2015, but this year I’m hoping we’ll get out and about more to show you a few of our favourite places around Dublin. And of course Paddy and Plunkett will be back with more tales from further afield… Last I heard, they were heading off somewhere in search of some winter sun. I can’t wait to see pictures – they’ll be the perfect antidote to the blustery drizzliness of an Irish January!

So, that’s what you can expect from the BeastieBlog this year… Plus we have lots of other schemes, capers and new ideas in the pipeline. I can’t wait to share them with you all!

But what do you have lined up for 2016? Be sure to share your hopes, dreams and plans for world domination in the comments! And now all that’s left for me to do is to wish you all a happy new year… may 2016 be your beast year EVER! Cheers!

  1. Pint Beastie is a beastie after my own heart! Looking forward to touring Dublin with Explorer Beastie and following in all the beastie footsteps when I explore the city myself this fall.

    1. Ooooh, you’re picking a great time to visit! Most of the big tour parties will have gone home, the leaves are drifting off the trees, and I always feel that the rain takes a little break in September/October. The Beasties look forward to meeting you!

  2. Happy New Year. The Beasties are here. I couldn’t miss this special holiday broadcast. They’ve gone totally bananas on New Year’s Day. So cool. Love them!

  3. Oh man…. I can’t resist any more! Toooooo cute. πŸ™‚ I need a Beastie in Queensland πŸ™‚ the Australian dollar is stuffed against the Euro, but I am saving…..Happy new year to you, hope 2016 rocks for you and the Beasties!

    1. Heehee, thank you! I don’t think a Beastie has made it down under yet, but I’d be happy to change that πŸ˜€ I’m hoping to look after my Etsy shop better this year, so there should be more woolly friends to choose from soon… Or feel free to request a special bespoke Beastie if you don’t see your perfect monster companion there! All the best for the coming year, I’m looking forward to seeing more of your own beautiful knitted creations πŸ˜ƒ

      1. Yay!! πŸ™‚ wow, none down here yet? I am excited at the prospect of being Australia’s Beastie pioneer lol! πŸ™‚ i am quite taken with the gorgeous punk beastie, (omg the docs) but also very keen to see your new additions! I saw a pic of one holding a book, as a writer that’d be cool, I will keep checking the etsy shop πŸ™‚ ❀

        1. Not as far as I know, anyway! So you are truly a pioneer until I find out otherwise πŸ˜ƒ Punk Girl Beastie has long been a favourite of mine, I wish I could have her hair! And I should really make some more Reader Beasties… I especially love making up silly pun titles for their books. I’ll keep you posted on new additions… Once they’re ready πŸ˜€
