This Beastie pair were designed for the winner of a prize draw that I ran at a Christmas market back in 2016. This little made-to-measure monster guy was crafted to look just like my prizewinner…
… And then he asked for a companion Beastie, made to look like his own girlfriend, to keep his monster buddy company!
The boy Beastie (who I named “Lucky Guy Beastie” – his human counterpart DID win a competition, after all!) was dressed in a spiffy felt army-style jacket, with a hood…
… But he doesn’t have to wear it all the time. It’s removable!
I also provided him with a felt backpack, complete with sandwich, in case he gets hungry…
… And a cool felt watch!
As for his lady friend… Well, I was pretty excited to be making my first ever Beastie in hijab!
I used bright pink felt to make a “base” for the garment, and then draped a floaty chiffon layer over the top to capture the soft drape of the human-sized version. I also knitted her a nice bright red cardigan…
… Which can be taken off on hot days!
And now I think they’re ready to go out and celebrate!
