The Best-Laid Plans of Mice and Monster-Makers…

Oh dear. Ever just have one of those days?Tumble in the Lava - Oooops.Yes, I know I promised new Beasties galore today, and I even have a couple of little monsters who are oh-so-keen to meet you all! But alas, they’re just not quite ready yet… A small matter of one accessory that is refusing to coooperate. However, the good news is that I think I’m finally close to breaking its spirit and bending it to my will, so you’ll definitely be able to meet them all next week!

You’ll also surely be reassured to learn that I haven’t spent the whole weekend cussing at tiny pieces of felt. It’s been a busy one here at Beastie Towers! There have been commission sketches to prepare…

… And, in case you missed my all-over-all-the-social-media-announcement last week, I did a guest post for local crafty magazine Olann And!

My Featured Craftspeople! CrawCrafts Beasties
My Featured Crafters! Clockwise from left: Dinah’s Dolls, Guadalupe Creations, Niki Collier Design.

It was great to have a chance to introduce their readers to some of my favourite Dublin craftspeople – two of whom (Niki Collier and Ann from Dinah’s Dolls) are also fellow WordPress bloggers. So do stop by their blogs if you get a second, they’re some seriously talented ladies!

And if that wasn’t enough to keep me out of mischief, I’m also gearing up to head to the Ha’Penny Market at The Grand Social again this Saturday!

We had such a great time on our last visit, and this is the first Saturday we’ve had free since then, so we’re really looking forward to it! As always, feel free to pop in and say hi – we’d love to see you!
Market Stall - CrawCrafts BeastiesAlrighty, time to recommence battle with those accessories! We’ll be back on Friday, with photos from the day trip Explorer Beastie and I took last Saturday. See you then!

    1. Thanks! Ah, poor Explorer Beastie… I always crack out that photo of him when I’m in need of a bit of comic relief! And I love the look of a Beastie-full market stall too… It’s so fun to see all the Beastie gang out together! šŸ˜€

  1. How on earth do you think you’ll keep your Beasties under control at the Ha’penny Market when they discover that there is a Leprechaun Museum just a few streets away? They’ll want to hang out with their buddies!

    1. Shhhhh! I’ve managed to keep it a secret up until now! Although I’m not sure if there are really any leprechauns in the Leprechaun Museum, anyway… I’d say you’d be more likely to encounter one in the pub across the way. Especially after you’ve had a pint or two! šŸ˜€

      1. The more I research monsters in your area, the more convinced I am that Irish monsters are super scary. Best keep the little beasties from wandering!

        1. Hmmm… Now you mention it, it’s a wonder any of us ever leave the house! I blame our climate – dark, rainy winter nights spent huddled by the fire are a perfect breeding ground for elaborate monster stories. I reckon the Beasties can hold their own, though… They’re tough little critters!

  2. Lol. Poor Beastie! I have to say that I really like that Egyptian mummy pencil case. Very cool! I’ll have to check out your guest post. Good luck with your battles and at the market! šŸ™‚

    1. Yes, it’s a fact of life that those who explore do sometimes trip up and spill all their cool stuff out of their backpack! But you really can’t keep a good monster down. And with that in mind, I’ve set aside my troublesome project and concentrated on a couple of more cooperative ones… Look out for new Beasties on Tuesday! And thanks for stopping by šŸ˜€

    1. Thank you! I’ll be getting that rogue bit of kit under control sometime in the future when I have a bit more time to work out what isn’t working šŸ˜† I have managed to match up a couple of Beasties with more cooperative accessories in the meantime though!

    1. Hahaha! I never thought of THREATENING them! Good call… I think I know where to go next with the troublesome one, but time has been in short supply lately so I’ve shelved it in favour of more cooperative projects! But when I get back to it, I’m bringing out the dreaded Scraps Bag and leaving it menacingly on the table.
