Hey there Beastiebuddies! It’s Tuesday again, so that means I am duty bound to introduce you to the newest arrivals here at Beastie Towers – and since wedding season is still in full swing, it looks like you’re actually getting TWO new Beasties for the price of one. Don’t say I ain’t good to ya!
Ooookaaay, where shall we start? Aha! Here comes the bride now.
Isn’t she pretty? I loved styling her beautiful long hair!
Her dress is an understated yet elegant ivory satin, with a fitted wool bodice and net petticoats, and she has a veil to match… topped with pale yellow roses, to complement her golden skintone.
This Beastie bride’s human counterpart is a big fan of board games, so I also made her a personalised miniature Scrabble tile necklace to complete her outfit!
And what’s that in her paw?
It’s a “Carcassonne” board game, shrunk to Beastie size! Apparently this is the human bride’s very favourite board game, and I thought Beastie Bride would like one too.
I used felt as the background, then appliquéd hand-cut pieces of felt on for the larger blocks of colour, before adding in the details and lettering with hand-stitched embroidery. The finished box measures just 5x6cm!
But let’s not forget about the groom! He’s looking dapper in a navy felt and wool suit, and his golden yellow tie is a thoughtful nod to his lady-wife’s complexion.
And because he’s an enthusiastic Latin scholar and budding writer, I couldn’t quite convince him to leave his dictionary and favourite pen at home…
…But I did manage to attach them both to his jacket…
…So he can show off his sweet dance moves at the reception!
Congratulations to the bride and groom, and thanks to Niamh for requesting this fun commission as a gift for her friends!
We’ll be back on Friday, when we’ll be checking up on Paddy and Plunkett. Let’s hope the sun is still shining on them, wherever they are…
Until then, have a super week!
Beautifully done !
Thank you! I had a lot of fun with this one 😀
Really beautiful! I like playing Carcassonne with our boys ! I love the scrabble tiles hanging from the necklace!!!!
You are a fantastic and imaginative Monstermaker!
Ciao!!!!!
Antonello
Love it!
Thank you! 😀
Yaaaay! Thanks Antonello… Although I am starting to wonder if I’m the only person on earth who hadn’t heard of Carcassonne before! It looks like a fun game, I’ll have to try it sometime! 😀
O. M. G!!! Your entire torso must be stuffed with patience to create these little monsters (the rest of you is stuffed with talent…obviously). Which makes me wonder where your beer goes when you drink it. Hmmm…..
Heeheehee! It’s a delicate balancing act, certainly… Although I suspect that beer makes room for itself by pushing out patience and talent 😆 Thanks for your comment… You’re making me blush here!
They look amazing
Thank you! Doing commissions like these is challenging but super-satisfying 😀
These are brilliant! I hope they stand beside the wedding cake at the reception and enjoy the fun!
Thank you! Although I’d question the wisdom of leaving Beasties anywhere near a giant cake… There may not be much left for the guests! 😆
I adore these! As an avid board game player myself, I am hugely impressed with the detail on the Carcassonne box. You are not only more dexterous than I am but clearly have better eyesight. I love reading about all of the little details you incorporate to personalise each Beastie. You are making wonderful, unique, heirloom pieces.
Oh wow, thank you for your kind words! Although we’ll have to see how long my eyesight stands up to the challenges I’ve been setting it lately! It’s good to hear that my felt Carcassonne box stands up to scrutiny from an expert player too. Thanks again for your lovely comment 😀
I’m speechless …. these monsters with all their accessories are just awesome. Just wow!!!!
Awww, thank you! These accessories were fun, actually… I’m so enjoying doing embroidery at the minute! Cheers for stopping by 😀
You really inspire me to try it out myself. As soon as I get home to my supplies I’ll try,me hands on some accessories.
Yes, definitely give it a go! Your monsters will thank you! 😀
Haha
Just gorgeous- and your embroidery is beautiful!
Cheers! It’s seriously addictive… I’m actually planning more embroidery-based projects soon, so watch this space! Thanks for stopping by 😀
These guys are great! And that board game is amazing!!! Wonderful work. 🙂
Thank you! I’m really looking for any excuse to do embroidery these days, so that Carcassonne box was great fun. Cheers! 😀
I love those newlywed Beasties! Makes me want to get married again! 🙂
Heehee! Thank you! This July certainly was wedding season here in Beastie Towers. And if you ever need a pair of “Wedding Vow Renewal” Beasties, just let me know! 😉
I will most certainly will be! We are coming up on that soon 🙂
