Food for Thought…

Hello there everyone! Well, I hope you’re hungry, because this week’s post is all about FOOD!

I was set on this train of thought by last week’s post, which started off with a picture of Explorer Beastie tucking into a human-sized breakfast. MY human-sized breakfast, I might add… And it appears that I’m not the only one to have been affected by the Beasties’ tendency to view all food as their rightful property.

Look, even Plunkett isn’t above stealing a sneaky forkful of baked beans from a passing breakfast plate!
Breakfast Fit For A Beastie - H Crawford/CrawCrafts BeastiesThe only solution here is to provide these little monsters with their own Beastie-sized snacks, in the hope that they will leave your plate alone… At least long enough for you to eat a couple of mouthfuls. So here are some of my favourite adventures in Beastie cuisine, collected together in one menu for the first time!

So, what’s the most popular Beastie foodstuff?

COOKIES!
This Cookie Beastie is munching on a colourful jellybean treat, but chocolate chip is also a real crowd-pleaser. Especially when washed down with a bottle of Hop Monster IPA or two…
You’ll notice that this cheerful Beastie couple have a flask of hot tea and a sandwich as well, to provide some nutritional balance.

And while these little woolly monsters certainly do have a sweet tooth, they enjoy savoury food too. Spaghetti and meatballs, anyone?
Or, for the more daring diner, we’re also serving pizza with hot sauce.

  1. Wow! Yum yum! I’ll have a Beastie fry up with a flask of tea, followed by some water melon please. But aren’t there any Scottish Beasties out there? We’ve just had Burn’s Night and I didn’t see any haggis on this delectable menu!

    1. That sounds like the makings of a great Beastie feast there, Queen Bee! We’ll have to see about cooking up some monster-sized haggis with neeps and tatties in time for next year’s Burns Night too… Beasties do have some Scottish ancestry so it’s only right! Thanks for dropping in for dinner 😁

  2. Finn has studied this post and says, “Cookies, pizza, breakfasts,. and beer! Looks good to me. Leave those boring salads, fruits, and veggies to the humans.” He then went around bragging about Beastie metabolism. : ))

    1. Hahaha! Isn’t it well for some who can gorge all day on delicious woolly treats and never gain an ounce? I hope Mr McSpool hasn’t used this post as an excuse for emptying your kitchen cupboards and fridge 😜 Cheers for stopping in, Tammie!

    1. That a good way to start the day, Mariss… Although are you sure we can’t tempt you with a nice full Irish breakfast as well? 😜 Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Heehee, thank you! Looking back at these, I think food items are some of the most fun accessories to make 😊 Cheers for stopping in!

  3. Good to know that the Beastie is an omnivorous creature with a penchant for baked beans and jelly bean cookies (a characteristic I think I share!). Is there anything a Beastie won’t eat in its natural habitat? πŸ™‚ A marvelous collection of monster-sized foods, Helen (that wondrous little croissant, how did you do it!). I’ll consider this my first lesson in monster gastronomy 101.🀭

    1. Excellent question, Shirley! I’ll put our team of Beastie nutritionists onto it right away. I suspect the results will show that they’ll chow down on pretty much anything… With the possible exception of anything that tastes like aniseed, a trait they inherit from me πŸ˜‚ Thanks for joining us for the feast!
