New Year? Snow Way!

It’s the first BeastieBlog of 2021… Happy new year, everybody! And although this first week of January didn’t bring a whole lot of good news on the pandemic front, in some parts of the island of Ireland it did bring something a little unusual – SNOW!

And some of it fell in the back garden of a pair of familiar Beastie friends.

… To go and wake up Plunkett.

Poor Plunkett. He was having a lovely dream about igneous rock formations.

“SNOW! It’s been snowing, Plunkett! Get up get up get up!”

It really is rather lovely. And every window revealed a fresh, snow-dusted view.

“Ta-daaaaah!”

“I think it’s not quite finished yet… Hang on a sec!”

And with a few finishing touches from Plunkett…

“Almost!”

But even little woolly monsters start to feel the cold eventually. With their SnowBeastie finished, the lads decided it was time to head back indoors…

  1. Great to see the boys back to jolly us up in 2021 and, with natural wooly immunity to covid 19, no necessity for facemasks! It’s funny to see Ireland white instead of green. I bet there were lots of chilly paws after this caper in the garden! Tell me, have Paddy and Plunkett ever mentioned if that water pump actually works?

    1. Which water pump? Ohhhh, the one in the first photo! Hmm, no, I don’t think they have… That might be worth investigating when the weather warms up again! Thanks for joining the boys on their snowy new year adventure, Queen Bee 😊

    1. Thanks, Mariss! Snow is a rare treat here and always makes the world look a little more magical. I’m sure the turning of the year looked very different in your part of the world though! Here’s wishing you all good things in 2021 😊

  2. Happy 2021! Glad to see that Beastie towers received a rare dusting of snow! The views are magical — those lovely undisturbed snowy hills… And nice to see that a Beastie-sized snowperson happened — snowman-snow is truly the best kind, if I must say so. 🙂 Our snow has since hardened into ice over here, but we manage a daily walk (and even the joggers are undeterred, the temperatures have been below freezing but very nice). I hope you can enjoy the snowy views for a while longer!

    1. Happy 2021 to you too, Shirley! I just spent a lovely while yesterday catching up on your recent posts 😊 Thanks for checking in with the boys and their snow day adventure – you’re right, snowman snow is the best! And we got a little re-up this morning, too… Enough to look pretty, hopefully not enough for the local kids to make into military-grade snowballs 🤣
Stay toasty over there, and cheers for popping by!

    1. Hahaha! Thanks, Tierney – happy new year to you too! And cheers for not laughing at what must look like a pitful amount of snow to you – I’m sure you’ve seen much more than that this winter 😂 Stay cosy and keep smiling 😊

    1. Thanks, Melissa! Same to you… Let’s celebrate with monster cookies for all 😁 Thanks for dropping in!

  3. Your beastie stories are always to fun to read. I can only imagine what it must be like to spend time with you and your creative personality! We do get snow here. The last two storms dumped between 9-12 inches. Made for a lot of time spent outdoors removing it from the walkways and driveway. Fortunately the process does not fall on my shoulders. 🙂

    1. Happy new year, Cindy! And wow, 9-12 inches in two storms? That sure puts our little skiff to shame 😂 How lucky that you’re not in charge of clearing it out of the way so you can leave the house… That sounds like a good arrangement! Thanks for popping in and stay cosy over there 😊
