Hello there Beastie people! After last week’s visit with a new Beastie, we’re back on the road with Paddy and Plunkett… And it’s certainly nice and sunny wherever they are today!
It seems the locals are pleasant, too. We all know about how well Beasties and cats get on, and the boys can really get on board with any place that puts up a sign like this.
Then, on the horizon… Look, a lighthouse!
The boys have never been in a lighthouse before. And now we know where they are – they’re back in Scotland, at the Mull of Galloway! This is Scotland’s most southerly point, and between the lighthouse and the nearby nature reserve, there’s plenty of cool stuff to see. Better still…
“Look, Paddy! It’s open!”
“YESSSSSS! I can’t wait to see the view from up there…”
But alas, Paddy will have to stick to admiring the lighthouse from ground level. The Beasties’ small stature has once again been their undoing, and there’s a minimum height requirement. And they won’t even be able to stow away in a handy human pocket or backpack, either.
” ‘Little ones may not be carried’. Sounds like the humans might be on to us, Paddy… Paddy?”
He’s already gone! Never one to dwell, Paddy has switched his attentions to something new. Namely, how to get down to this foghorn. It’s been out of service since 1987, but it was restored to full working order last year… And is occasionally sounded for lucky visitors.
Paddy is planning to take it a step further. He’s pretty sure everyone wants to hear his rendition of “Ode to Joy” blasted out over the sea at 120 decibels.
Fortunately, Plunkett has the perfect distraction to get Paddy away from the foghorn, and preserve the peace of this otherwise tranquil nature reserve…
How could any adventurous Beastie resist a signpost like this one? So many possibilities!
“Which way to Dublin, Paddy?”
“It doesn’t say… How about we head to Senegal instead?”
Do you reckon the boys will hitch a lift with a friendly gannet and send their next holiday photos from Dakar? You’ll have to join us next week to find out!
What a lovely post: words and pics, especially the first one, so cute! π€
Have a pleasant day!
Lots of greetings from Lu
Awww, thanks Lu! Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for dropping in… Have a super weekend! π
Thank you π΅πΆπ΅πΆπ΅π¦
I really wanted to hear ‘ode to joy!’. π
Your beastie adventures are lovely!
So it is … π΅πΆπ΅πΆπ΅π
Hahaha! At least someone got to play it! π
π΅πΆπ΅πΆπ΅π
Thanks Ivonne! And if Paddy HAD got his way, chances are you would have heard “Ode to Joy” even where you are π
Cheers for joining us!

How do these two always arrange blue sky during their stow-away holidays? And, even more interestingly, how do they arrange blue sky in of all places, Scotland? AND, as far as I remember, they’ve managed this feat TWICE so far this year. Have they a hot line to heaven? If so, I wish they would use it a bit more often!
Hahaha! Well, I wouldn’t want to make any grandiose claims on the boys’ behalf, but until science proves otherwise… Yes! They have supernatural powers and can control the weather!
So, perhaps we all need to find out where they’re off to next, then we can get a slice of this good fortune for ourselves. π€
Thanks for stopping by, Queen Bee!
Could it be that they chose John O Groats, seeing as it’s a bit closer than Senegal? Can’t wait to find out
Hahaha! It would certainly make more sense… But the boys never let being sensible get in the way of a good adventure! Cheers for stopping in, Mariss π
Trust the boys to pick the sunny place rather than go home. I’m sure they’re having such fun!
As always! I’m wondering if they might find Senegal a little too warm though, especially if they’ve only packed woolly jumpers and tweeds… Cheers for stopping in, Simon! π
If that’s what they’ve packed it will be too warm… oh dear.
Always a pleasure Helen π
Aaaah, they’re probably used to it at this point π
Well they should be. It’s been warm enough ππ€£
Yes, look at us… Getting an actual summer this year! π
Shhh… You’ll scare it away lol
I do hope the boys make it to Senegal someday (it is only 2800 miles, according to the sign). And a foghorn rendition of Ode to Joy sounds truly epic (I don’t know why, but I sounded it out in my head, and the song took on a minor key!). I’m really enjoying P&P’s coastal adventures. π
Thanks, Shirley! I’m glad Paddy wasn’t the only one who thought the foghorn should be put to a more musical use π Cheers for popping in!
They have sunglasses!!!! Too bad the minimum height requirement ruined their fun (your posts make me laugh so hard) but still they got to see the foghorn! π
Yes indeed… But fortunately not PLAY the foghorn, despite Paddy’s best efforts π
And of course they have sunglasses… Any Beastie who travels as much as these two do needs something to protect those peepers from the sun! That, and Paddy thinks he’s THE COOLEST when he’s in his shades π
Cheers for popping by, Tierney!
Paddy is the coolest! π
Hahaha! Oh no, he’s going to be such a diva now! π
