… We’re sick!
And that has upset the apple cart a little bit here at Beastie Towers.
So, I’m just stopping in to say hello, and to promise that the new Beastie I planned to introduce to you this week will be joining us next week instead. She has SO MUCH cool stuff to share and I want to make sure I’m back on form to show it all to you!
In the meantime, here are some of my favourite silly Beastie pictures from the archives to help brighten up your Tuesday!
A close encounter of the porcine kind… Careful there, Explorer Beastie!
Remember the time Paddy went in search of the perfect all-over tan?
Or how about another beach adventure, when Plunkett recreated Botticelli’s Venus?
Oh, and here’s a typical night out with the lads. Lest we forget, this is what happens when you let them split a human-sized hot whiskey.
And finally… I love this picture of Fairy Princess Beastie, sent to me by her new family. Look how intensely she’s concentrating on her colouring in!
Ha! I’m feeling better already! Here’s wishing you all a sniffle-free week, and I’ll catch you again next Tuesday!
Oh no! I hope you are back on your feet again soon…or should that be paws? My favourite Beastie photo from this lot has to be Explorer Beastie examining a set of porcine tonsils…..closely followed by a lively night out with Paddy and Plunkett. Those guys sure do know how to enjoy themselves! Maybe you should try a hot toddy for your sniffles?
Why thank you, Queen Bee! I’m on the mend now, and the Beasties seem to have missed out on this bug entirely… They must have been hitting the whiskey again while my back was turned ๐ Glad you enjoyed the pictures!
OMG you poor thing! It is really going around… I had it last week, and it is no joke. Just get plenty of rest and drink fluids yada yada yada. I also decided that it means you can eat whatever you want with reckless abandon because you need to keep your strength up. And it means that Boyfriend should scratch your back and fetch you tea in constant rotation. And you’re allowed to order those Beasties to be useful and clean the tower for you. Tell the Drapers I say hello (if you’re still working your way through that world), and I’ll see you on the other side, friend!!! (lololol at Paddy with his jumper under his arm and Plunkett as Venus… just what this Tuesday needed!)
Thanks, Weekes! Hope you’re feeling better yourself… It’s a stinker, isn’t it? ๐ฒ But I think I’ve beaten it now, thanks to muchos, muchos sleep and several gallons of honey, lemon and ginger tea. Oh, and although I’ve been dropping in on the Mad Men fairly frequently, my televisual drug of choice this week has been a veritable binge of Come Dine With Me. They should come with a warning… You can never stop after just watching one! ๐
So glad to hear you’re feeling better! My illness weirdly seems to relapse every time I walk through the doors of the office but.. other that, feeling better too! Oooohhhhh is that the one were people go over to other people’s houses and have to eat a meal and then complain about it? That might make a nice change from all my murder shows….
Yuuuuuup! And if you’re still feeling a little under the weather, it’ll help you chase away the last of those spring flu blues. You’ll find episodes going all the way back to 2006 on the Channel 4 website, or if you have real TV, you probably already know that they run repeats ALL THE TIME on More4 or one of those other made-up channels. Hope you’re back to 100% soon!
Hahaha yes, I really enjoy all those made-up channels when I go to the gym to watch TV…. I mean… to exercise! I dunno why they need 15 different channels that exclusively show repeats Big Bang Theory and Come Dine With Me, but I guess we’re grateful? ๐
Well of course… Although for transparency, they should maybe rename those channels “4 the Dentist’s Waiting Room”, “4 Playing on Loop in Public Places” and “4 When You’re Off Work Lying in a Heap on the Couch with Flu” ๐
Hahhahaha so true.
Get well soon… I imagine beasties don’t make the best nurses!
Hahaha! Thanks Jan… And you’re right, the Beasties I have gambolling around Beastie Towers just now are not exactly the nursey type ๐ Cheers for popping in!
If laughter is the best medicine, you simply need to keep reading this post over and over until you’re better (while drinking a bit of gin…alcohol kills viruses, right?). I’ve been lucky enough to escape the pesky cold gremlins so far this season (ooh, they’re going to be hunting me down after typing that boast). Hope you get better soon!
Thanks Tammie! I am feeling moderately human again now… But I heartily recommend staying cold-and-flu-free as long as you can! Perhaps that heady mix of gin and chuckles you suggested might help keep those gremlins at bay before they strike – you know, just as a prudent precautionary measure ๐
I’m pretty sure I recall “gin and humor” being tops in the Stay Healthy guides from health class in school.
That’s all the encouragement I needed! Plus I still have some sloe gin stashed in the cupboard, and that has FRUIT in it, for extra health points! I’m going to be positively superhuman after this…
Move over acai berry smoothies, Sloe gin is the new super food in town! ๐๐
Now that’s healthy living I can get behind! ๐๐๐
I hope you are feeling better soon!
Thanks, Laura! I’m starting to feel more like myself again at last! ๐
Oh, no! I hope you’ll feel better soon! And be careful that the beasties don’t catch the fiber flu. ๐ And by the way since you are their maker they should take really good care of you and tend to all your needs!
My kiddo had the flu last week and several cases of tuberculosis at school. It’s no fun this time of the year!
Hi Ivonne! And thank you, I’m feeling much more chipper and cheerful today… Hopefully the kiddo is too! There seem to be a lot of mean ol’bugs knocking around at the moment – and really, TB at the school? That’s pretty hardcore! ๐ฑ At least the Beasties seem to be dodging that dreaded fibre flu… How’s Katsching holding up?
Cheers for stopping in ๐
Thanks for asking! Katching is her usual furry self … jumping from yarn bin to yarn bin, trying to find out what to make next. I’m glad she’s not very susceptible to ailments of any kind. ๐
I’m delighted to read that you are feeling better! Down with the germs!!! ๐
Well THAT’S a relief! ๐ I suppose realistically a germ is hardly going to want to take on a monster’s immune system, anyway… ๐ Thanks for your good wishes!
Hope you feel better soon ๐
Thanks, Paula ๐ I am now, but watch out for this bug… It’s a mean one!
Oh noes! I hope you’re on the mend with plenty of warm drinks, lots of rest, and downtime. Wishing you a sniffle-free recovery very, very soon. Thanks for the delightful snapshots! ๐
Heehee! Thanks, Shirley – glad you enjoyed them! And yes, after a few days of trashy TV and gallons of hot lemon and ginger, I’m feeling almost human again! Thanks for your comment! ๐
So glad to hear! Yes – the trashy TV-lemon-ginger remedy always does the trick for me, too! ๐
Can’t beat it! ๐
You must keep the Beasties out of the whiskey! Sorry to read you were feeling “under the weather”. For some reason I never get e-mail notification of your posts even though I follow you so I have to remember to manually check for them ๐
I never want to miss a new Beastie installment!
Hahaha! I know I should really keep those little monsters out of the booze cabinet, but sometimes that’s easier said than done ๐ Oh, and if you’re wanting to keep up with all things Beastie, there is an email signup option… You’ll just have to view my site in your browser, rather than through the WordPress Reader. You’ll find it at the bottom of every post after the comments if you’re reading on a mobile device, and I think it displays on the right hand side on a desktop. Hopefully that helps… Otherwise, I publish every Tuesday at lunchtime my time ๐ Cheers for stopping in, Tierney!
Perfect – I will try the e-mail sign up option. That is so cool that you have a regular posting time you are so organized! Cannot wait for my Beastie someday, no hurry, the excitement keeps building ๐
Hahaha! Yes, normally I hate anything that looks like a routine, but it’s the best way to keep my blogging on track! As for your Beastie, expect to be harassed with drawings soon… I’ve one monster to send off during this coming week, then you’re top of the line at long last! Thanks for being so patient! ๐
No problem I figure my beastie will be very exciting because u had plenty of time to think about it๐
-Gulp- No pressure then! ๐๐๐
I do hope you’re feeling better now, being ill is rotten! All those beastie photos certainly cheered my day up ๐
Thanks Hannah! I hope you managed to dodge that bug yourself… Glad you enjoyed the photos, and cheers for stopping in! ๐
