Flashback Friday – Gardening Beasties!

Hey there Beastie friends! It’s not much of a day for gardening in Dublin today… We’re in the throes of Tropical Storm Arthur (somehow! Tropical storms in Ireland? Really?) and it’s freakishly windy outside.

But we can still look back at some plant-happy Beasties from 2018, right?
Ready for the Garden - CrawCrafts BeastiesThis happy horticultural pair were created for Jan from The Snail of Happiness. They were commissioned as a birthday gift to her partner Jon who blogs at Writinghouse – so I was able to get plenty of insight into what makes them both tick!

Their gardening gear has plenty of little nods to things I enjoyed reading about in their posts. Jan Beastie’s gardening apron is based on one that her human counterpart made herself, and the chili plant pays tribute to the many heat-loving plants they grow in their lovely Limery.

They also got a pair of welly boots each, because they live in Wales and are subject to the same interesting weather conditions as we get here in Ireland!

And the gardening kit was only one part of a truly monster-sized commission. I’ve just added Jan and Jon Beastie to the Gallery if you want to check out all the other cool stuff they have!

Then… While I was finding the photos for this post, I stumbled upon some other garden-based fun that I published at around the same time. Does anyone remember Paddy and Plunkett enjoying a not-so-quiet drink on the lawn?
Beastie Buckfast - CrawCrafts BeastiesUh-oh, here comes trouble! You can find the full post here if you missed it first time around.

And finally… It was World Bee Day on Wednesday! So I thought I would re-link to my Felt Bees pattern from a couple of years ago.
A Little Felt Bee - CrawCrafts BeastiesYou’ll find it here – let me know if you make one!

Have a great weekend, and we’ll be back on Tuesday with some more monster antics!

    1. Thanks, Shirley! Your wishes worked – it’s looking much sunnier out there today. Hope you’re keeping well and enjoying some good weather over where you are too!

    1. Heehee! Thanks Mariss… I reckon they’d be super-comfy but I couldn’t vouch for their ability to keep feet dry in heavy weather ๐Ÿ˜‚ Cheers for dropping in!
